One of my recs basically told me he will give me a very strong rec, which I am grateful for.

I already wrote all my needed Notre Dame essays. I will be communicating with my highschool's college counseling office throughout the summer to improve them as needed.

What are my chances? I realize my ACT is what is holding me back the most.. I've been prepping for a few weeks and once I get back to my hometown I will be having two hour tutoring sessions every Sunday. Hopefully that will help but I don't want to assume it'll improve. It's very frustrating, I got a 32.25 and I feel like that little point is holding me back. Same with the PSAT, so close to National Merit.. Oh well.

A word of caution, though. If the ND Supplemental essays you wrote were taken from prompts found on the admission website, those were from last year. With the exception of the “Why ND?” topic, they change pretty significantly from year to year, so it is difficult to write them ahead of time. D first saw the prompts when she was able to link through the CA after August 1.

Yep. Those are from last year. The “Fall 2013” indicates matriculation, not application, date. Don’t stress about it though. Your app looks pretty good, although with ND it is a crapshoot. Applications were up this year and are expected to be next year as well. Also, their yield was slightly higher than expected this year, so they might be a little more conservative in their acceptance numbers next year. But that could all just be me overthinking things!

Not dumb at all. Far from it! My D was in your position last year. I know how anxious she was, but truth be told, she wrote her ND essays in one afternoon, so I wouldn’t sweat it! Your application looks very sound. Just keep working hard. You might also want to contact your regional admissions rep, introduce yourself, etc., etc., etc… If you are thinking of applying EA, he/she might be able to guide you one way or another. If nothing else, they might remember your name when reading time comes around. Good luck! (BTW my D will be starting at ND in the fall.)

Thanks so much! I contacted my regional advisor like you said, thank you for the advice. That’s so great, congratulations! I hope that I can join her next year.
