Chance me for NYU, Brown U, Boston U, and/or Emerson?

<p>If background has any significance, I come from an economically disadvantaged family (single income, no child support, etc). I am a gifted writer (though it may not be reflected in my SAT writing score), evidenced in my college essays (my counselor says they're brilliant).
Also, if anyone knows anything about CTY, do you think it would mean anything to the admissions committees?

<p>Brown is unlikely as they take very few not in the top 10% of their class, but the others are possible. None of those, however, gives good financial aid which I’m guessing would be a problem. You need schools that meet 100% of need and should comb the list of those for possibilities.</p>

<p>Thanks for the response. I’m applying ED to Brown because I would really like to go, and the worst that can happen is I don’t get in, so why not.</p>
