Hey everyone,

I just submitted by application to New York University (College of Arts and Science.)
Early Decision II

Here are my stats:

3.688 Unweighted GPA

SAT- 2020
600 Math
690 Critical Reading
730 Writing

US History Subject Test- 750
Spanish Subject Test-720

Lots of extracurriculars (leadership in several activities), passionate essays, and great references (teacher who wrote my essay was just praised in the Washington Post:Triumph of a tough writing teacher - Class Struggle - The Washington Post)

So, do you think I'll get in? Percent chance?

Link me your forums and I'll chance you all! Good luck to everyone.

It’d be easier to gauge if you actually listed you ECs, but whatever. Leadership is always good, no matter what. From a pure numerical stand point, it’s probably a good target for you. It’s hard to tell though with some of these bigger competitive schools. NYU prides itself in diversity, so if you have some sort of hook (i.e.: out of state, another race, etc.) that could really help. I have a good friend applying there who is a Jewish Eagle Scout. That might seem weird, but it’s actually exceedingly rare because of the fact that Boy Scouts tend to be more associated with Christianity. But I’m ramblin’. Short answer: You’ve got the stats, so yes. Long answer: The other stuff may weight you down against other candidates.

Help me please:
