If it means anything, I also enjoy singing, although I've never been affiliated with any choir groups in high school. But I hear that NYU has some great a cappella opportunities. As a kid from the suburbs, it's always been a dream to end up in a big city. NYU appears to be pretty selective and holistic (according to my college counselor), so I'd like honest analyses on how likely I am to end up there if I apply ED. I intend to double-major in English and biomechanical engineering, if they allow it.

I'm also looking into USC, Vanderbilt, UC Berkeley, University of Chicago, and Rice. Ivies aren't in the game plan, so those last three will probably be my reach schools.

And NO, I don't already know the answer to this question. If I did, I wouldn't be obsessively ascertaining that this information is absolutely correct. The "holistic" part of the admissions is what worries me.

Thanks in advance from a very stressed, exhausted, and prematurely gray junior!

absolute shoe-in IMO

DenNuggs4Life: I took a prep course called TestMasters–unfortunately, though, it may only be available in Texas. I also did several practice exams through TM and on my own.

NYU ED: Safety

You can realistically get into Columbia…
