Chance me for Peabody HOD Early Decision 1

Ok so I'm applying early decision to Vanderbilt as I heard this will give me an advantage and I would love to go there. However my college counselor says its a stretch, but its a possibility if I do early decision so thats what I'm doing. What do you think?

My SAT score is 2070: Writing: 710 Math: 680 and Reading: 680
I don't know my class rank, but my high school is extremely competitive so I'm probably not in the top percent of anything. Hopefully I'm in the top 50% though.

We don't grade on the 4.0 scale, but my GPA for all of high school averaged is 90.35% (remember this is an average of all my averages from freshman year until second semester junior year) However, as I've gotten older, my grades have gotten better each year. So far senior year, my average for just this semester looks like it will be about a 95%, so this should definitely bring up my overall GPA some too.

My course load is about a medium difficulty. I'm only taking 2 APs this year (English and US History) but my school is a competitive private school and the regular classes i'm taking are still tough.

I'm the president of the Economics Club this year
I was active in Young Republicans from 9th grade to 11th
I went to Spain for a month to study abroad the summer before 10th grade
I am part of an organized spirit group this year
I am part of the year book editing staff this year
I played soccer at the JV level in 9th and 10th grade
I am part of the Student Library Advisory Committee this year (1 boy and 1 girl from each grade were chosen to help make decisions concerning the library)
I took Karate for 10 years
I volunteer once a week tutoring children whose parents don't speak english well
I will probably be in the National Honor Society (not sure yet they don't tell us for another couple weeks, but I have all the qualifications to be part of it)

I did take AP english last year as well and even though I did not take AP Euro last year, my teacher recommended me to take the AP exam and I did so I moved up from regular history to AP this year. I also am taking regular economics this year (my school doesn't offer AP) but plan to take the AP for micro and macro at the end of this year.

I also took honors geometry, honors algebra 2, and honors trig/precalculus.
and honors biology and honors chemistry

I'm also not a legacy or anything.

Oh and I'm applying to the Peabody school to be an HOD major. Is this major easier to get into? someone told me that.

Also, it would be great if you let me know why or why not you think I would get in and if you have any credentials that would make your predictions more believable like if you went to vandy or got rejected with similar stats or something of that nature. :)

Thanks

Everything’s a crap shoot, so don’t take my word as law.

You look pretty good. You have good grades, your trip to Spain (if it really was a study abroad trip rather than just a vacation) looks good for diversity as well.

Your lack of APs might look a little week, as well as a lack of commitment for some activities. However, you do have some that have lasted for a while, and should look pretty good to the counselors.

I think you have a good chance of ED, but like i said, it’s all really random.

Best of luck!

thanks for responding  I get so nervous seeing everyone else’s stats that says they are applying ugh. haha but yes my Spain trip was a legit study abroad program. We toured a little, but I stayed with a host family that spoke basically 0 English, so I was totally immersed! I know my lack of APs is weak though, but hopefully it isn’t a deal breaker and my high school is super hard. I’ll probably be one of those apps that is sent into committee or something.

Also just an update, but I was finally notified that I am part of the National Honor Society officially, so that’s good.

I’m also retaking the SAT one more time on Oct 1. to see if I can raise my math and reading scores

Did you get into Vanderbilt? I have very similar stats and applied to Peabdoy early decision II
