Chance me for Penn/Cornell/CMU/JHU/UVA

I've sent out applications for all schools besides UPenn, though it would be comforting to hear some opinions (regardless of acceptance).

GPA: 3.95, above a 4.3 weighted

Courses: all honors and AP, taking 3 AP courses this year and a total of 12 by graduation. 5 in AP World History. Next year's classes are: AP Lit, AP Comparative Government, AP US Government, BC Calc, AP Micro/Macroeconomics, AP Computer Science, AP Physics, Symphonic Orchestra.

PSAT: 2090, 98th percentile. Reading 68, Math 66, Writing 75.
SAT: 2210 - Reading 650, Math 780, Writing 780. My reading score is certainly a hindrance, but I'm applying as an applied mathematics/statistics major for all schools besides Penn.
SAT 2s: Math 2 790, Math 1 790, US History 710

Extracurriculars:
- I am a Life Scout, served as patrol leader numerous times.
- First chair cellist for 4 years, organize sectionals, private lessons.
- Member of the chamber orchestra, in which I've played in a quartet at numerous events over the last 2 years.
- Principal Cellist an out of school orchestra, played at the French Embassy.
- Member of the robotics team for 5 years, beginning in 8th grade. I've developed experience in mechanical engineering, a bit of programming, and will be leading the Animation team this coming year.
- Member of Math Honor Society for 3 years, top scorer in JV Math.
- National Honor Society.
- Should be getting a civics seal for community service over the summer.
- Recognized scholar in National Merit for PSAT scores.
-AP Scholar with Honor
-Tutor in math and english at local elementary school.

I feel my personal common app essay came out quite well, I was blessed with a recent car accident for introspective discussion.

I would consider Penn my "dream school" as it has a Digital Media Design program in the engineering department that combines computer animation (which I have quite a portfolio for) and computer engineering. I've applied for the Statistics department at all other schools. My choices follow up with Cornell, Carnegie Mellon (which I may prefer over Cornell), Johns Hopkins, UVA, William and Mary, Virginia Tech, and James Madison.

Thanks for your advice and suggestions!

You’re on the right track for sure. I would definitely take the SAT I again to try and get that reading score up. With practice, its not as hard as everyone makes it out to be. If you get that up, keep making good grades, 5s on AP tests and keep doing your ECs you’ll be right there in the running for UPenn.

At this point everything’s been sent in, but thank you very much for the feedback. I’m gradually shifting towards Carnegie and Hopkins as top choices, and seem to be above average when it comes to standardized scores.

I’d really appreciate any more feedback. Finishing my Penn supplement this very moment, though my interest in Carnegie Mellon, Johns Hopkins and Cornell has pretty much eclipsed Penn at this point. I seem to be a solid candidate for each school (at least when it comes to scores), but if anyone could offer more insight I’d love you forever.

While everything’s been finalized at this point, I’ll try reviving again. Carnegie Mellon is currently my top choice, and one of my more realistic out of states. Please respond if you could!
