Chances for uPenn, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, others. Will chance back!

Hello all.

Rising senior considering University of Pennsylvania, Cornell, NYU and Carnegie Mellon.

AP: 8 (self studied 2)
Honors: 13
GPA: 3.85 UW / 4.4 W
SAT: Based off of my practice tests, I think a 2150 is realistic.
Freshman: 3.6 (no honors)
Sophomore: 3.8 (all honors - Biology, English, Alg II, and business law). Self studied AP Micro/Macro econ and achieved a 5 on both.
Junior: 4.0 (all honors, including AP Stat, APUSH, AP Comp Science)
Projected senor: 4.0 (AP Calc, AP Bio, AP Euro hist)

I have an extremely strong upward trend, going from a 3.6 UW freshman year with no honors to a 4.0 junior year with the most rigorous courseload possible. I go to a very competitive and recognized public school in the Pittsburgh area, just 20 minutes away from Carnegie Mellon, my dream school.

I plan on applying ED to CMU. Assuming I'm in the top 10% to 20% of my school, we don't rank though.

EC's:
-Varsity track for throwing 3 years, captain for 2 years. LW rowing coxswain 2 years.
-Interned at state governers office last summer, doing so this summer as well.
-350 hours over 3 years at a summer camp and also my church.
-Summer rowing program, went to CMU's AP/EA program last summer and took econ just for fun. Got an A. Hope this shows my deep interest for the school.
-President and founder of Slavic club at my high school. Recently started a fund raiser to assist those who were protesting in Kyiv. Raised over $4,500 in just 2 months.
-FBLA, Science club, Investment club, Debate, Model UN, Student council (have leadership positions on all)

Didn't take any language in school, took Latin online however. Fluent in Ukrainian and Russian. Learned Hungarian sophomore year.

Additional:
-White
-Female
-I have no doubt that I can ace the interview
-$90,000 yearly household income
-I think my essays should be exceptional
-My recommendations should be pretty good

Any chances would be greatly appreciated! I'm also considering NYU, Columbia, and U Chicago, and Georgetown.

Thank you!

EC’s are nice and interesting, they are unique. Great upward trend.
NYU is a match
CMU is a high match, Being a female will help because CMU is nearly 65%male
UPenn and Cornell are reaches but reachable, you have a chance for both

Penn, Chicago and Columbia are the hardest on your list. Expect maybe 1 acceptance out of those 3. I’d put you at 50/50 for Cornell and 66% for GTown. I think you’re in at the rest.

Thank you! Anyone else?

NYU: match
CM: match
Georgetown: high match
Cornell: slightly higher match

Rest are reaches, but you should still have a decent shot at getting accepted to one.

Hi! I just finished up this application process. I was accepted by all the schools on your list except for Columbia (waitlist) and UChicago (I didn’t apply). From what I can see, academics looks just fine, if not pretty good! I had 10 APs (3 were semester courses- macro, micro, gov…) and you seem to have a pretty good number too.

The only thing I can comment on is EC’s. While they’re decent, I don’t think they’re spectacular. Granted, my EC’s were spectacular either, but all in all they were pretty good. If you don’t mind telling me, what are your leadership positions in each of those clubs? Did you guys do anything special? It’s really not how many or what kind, but more what you make out of it. You can PM me so I can better tell you how your EC’s (in my opinion) fare in the ivy league applicant pool. Or you can comment here.

If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to message me!
