Also, does anyone have any more information on the graphic design program at Penn State? I am planning to major in that so far but I am not sure about how good the program is.

Are you aiming for University Park?

If you can get your actual SAT above 650 or 700 in each section, you’ll have a great chance.

you have a good resume!! most of my friends at my school are seniors who got into Penn State recently, and most of them have similar resumes like yours. You seem to have everything you need to apply and get in! The only two things I would suggest would be to get your sat scores up to be around 1850 if you can, because that will make you look more impressive to the school, and, if you’re interested in graphic design, to get more involved in that. My friend’s mom is one of the head at UAlabama Admissions, and she always talks about how in college interviews, students will say they have a certain passion but are never able to show evidence for it. The way you could prove your passion to the admissions people would be to have a portfolio, do work for the yearbook or any of your school publications, enter design contests, or even do a local design internship if you can, this will solidify your acceptance chances hope i helped!

@smithers1008 I’m really shy so it’s hard for me to stand out in clubs like yearbook/newspaper but I’ll be joining the school newspaper next year maybe. Would it look bad if I only joined senior year? And I will definitely be working on my portfolio over the summer! Do you think my EC’s are good enough?

that’s understandable! but college is all about pushing yourself and trying new experiences. I would try your best to join clubs or organizations that need graphic designers and work for them! It’s never too late to join clubs or apply to free contests or build your portfolio. Better to have been a member of a club one year than no years ! just try to expand your graphic design interests more and you’re set. if you could look at my most previous post and chance me i would appreciate it!
