Hey guys, I’m a current senior and I’m worried about my chances to get into Penn State University Park. Here are my stats:
UW GPA: 3.33
ACT: 29
Extracurricular:
4 years of Interact Club, Service Coordinator this year
4 years of Anime Club, Vice VP (junior) President (senior)
4 years of science olympiad
2 years of GSA
1000+ hours of volunteering at a local education center where I taught kindergarteners
50+ hours at my local animal shelter (still ongoing)
Spent a summer volunteering at my local court
Took Community College Classes since sophomore years (currently 18 units)
I’m interested in criminology or homeland security. Thank you!
Do you have a weighted GPA? Definitely apply undecided and put summer as an option. My daughter got in a few years ago with a 3.45 and a 29 ACT, but she got in for summer session. Summer was the best thing she did. In fact, it was so helpful to her that my son did LEAP this summer optionally.
I do have weighted GPA but it’s doesn’t include my latest grades. It was around 3.6-3.7. I’m probably going to apply for summer session but does apply undecided really help? I know what I want to major in and thought it would be better to apply for that?
The School of Liberal Arts may not have much of a selectivity difference from DUS, but for other schools (engineering, business) DUS is a lot easier to get into.
