Chance me for Penn State?

Hey guys,
I just wanted an honest opinion if you think I should apply to Penn State Main Campus this upcoming fall.
-I go to an all-guys private school in Philadelphia that is very competitive/strict. It is also well known. The grading scale is this- 93-100 A, 85-92 B...etc. On my college transcript it will list percentage and letter grade so if I have a 92 in the class in will say B next to it.
-My grades junior year:
Chemistry- 90
Christian Ethics- 91 (religion)
Algebra II/Trig- 92
Honors Spanish IV- 99
English III- 95
Latin 1- 99
U.S. History- 91
Church History- 86 (religion)
- Yes, I know my schedule wasn't too hard but here's the thing: My freshman year I kind of messed up and had a 3.2 gpa (parents were divorcing etc.. and this was at a different public high school). So during my sophomore year I decided I wanted to study abroad in Seville, Spain for the entire year. My dad and I set everything up and I stayed for about 11 months. During that year my gpa was a 3.45 (but keep in mind that every class was in my second language). Also note that spanish is not spoken in my home and I learned everything from books/TV/being in Spain. Prior to the experience I could not understand much or even speak at all. After the 11 months of going to a private school there and studying a lot I came back and took an exam which proved I was conversationally fluent. (I scored a C-1 which is the level of a native speaker.) So now I am officially bilingual with Spanish and English. Now, when I came back from Spain my dad had moved to Philly and I (yet again -_-) switched schools to my now current one. Next year I will be taking these courses:
AP Spanish IV
Calculus
Honors Latin II
AP English IV
Painting/Drawing (I need a fine art credit)
Physics
Systematic Theology (Religion..)

-My SAT scores were as following:
Math-670
C.R.- 620
Writing- 530
That totals to 1820 but I will be retaking it in October.
- I have taken the Spanish SAT subject test and scored a 790 and I plan to take the Spanish with listening in November and I should get an 800 on it.
- One last thing, I heard that most schools exclude religion from your high school transcript. Is that true?

Thank you and I will appreciate every response good/bad.

-Also I forgot to add that I have done cross country every year so far and soccer in Spain
-And I am a caucasian male if that matter

Penn State: Match/High match

So do you think I should apply September 1st with my current SAT instead of waiting till November to apply?

bump…

What is your actual unweighted and weighted GPA you will be applying with? That is the most important part for PSU.

My school doesn’t weight gpa.
Freshman year: 3.2
Sophomore (In Spain): 3.45
Junior: 3.71 but I just finished my summer class (government) and got a 90% so now it’s 3.65.
The thing is if a 90% was an A in my school I’d have all A’s except one 86%. My grading scale is 93-100 A 92-85 B 84-77 C etc…

bumpppppppppppppppppp

Your SAT scores are fine. Apply right away, don’t wait until November.

Ok thanks I guess I’ll apply September 1st.

…

Penn State: 60% try raising your SAT score…

Chance back?

Thanks!

Not sure about some of your schools but boulder you will definitely get into (No doubt in my mind). CSU is a safety as well as Mines.

Thanks quaker!

When I visited penn state earlier this summer they said 2/3 of getting in is your GPA and the other third is the sat scores. Your scores match up perfectly and your GPA isn’t THAT bad so I would you have a pretty decent shot.
