gpa - 3.54 weighted 1400 sat (700 on both sections), and a letter of rec from a caltech physics researcher, and good essay ( thats what my english teacher has told me) and I have taken 9 ap classes, and was football captain for 4 years.

Your SAT is above average for the typical admit to Natural Sciences, but without listing your class rank, it is hard to tell. UT is only concerned with rank, not GPA. If you attend a non-ranking school, if you are roughly in the top quarter, UT should be considered a match.
In my school im 97/433 which is 21%
