<p>I know a lot of this is up in the air, but let's see what you can get out of this...I'm a junior btw</p>

<p>SAT: 790 CR, 780 Math, 790 Writing (11 on essay) This was in one sitting (second time through, but my first time through, all the scores were the same or embarrassingly lower, when it comes to math, so this is basically superscored)
ACT: I'm not taking it
SAT II: I'm taking Lit, Chem, and Math 2 on June 5
GPA: UW: 3.93 Unweighted
Rank: At 7% (Last time they were released. Thing is, my school is really competitive and people are leaving our school for less competitive ones all the time; our class was originally over 600, so I feel like my rank should have gone up according to my grades, but then it might go down due to our diminishing class size...)</p>

<p>APs: APUSH (sophomore year): 5
Took AP Lang, Stats, Chem, Calculus AB, and French this year. I feel like I snagged a 5 on all of them except French; I'm praying for a 4 on that one. </p>

Probably getting Commended based on my PSAT score...gah, I screwed up on that one. </p>

<p>Classes next year: BC Calc, English course for AP Lit, AP Bio, AP Gov, AP Economics, Orchestra, Creative Writing, AP Psychology (Maybe...)</p>

<p>Interesting Past?: Nope. Asian, female, parents both went to grad school (in Canada though, so I can't even use legacies really since they don't want me to go back to Canada)</p>

<p>Top Choices: See above! I'm really loving Pomona right now. I'm looking at pre-law and I really need help deciding on a good place for undergrad. My parents are pressuring me to go prestige route, you know, Harvard, Yale, etc, but I'm totally willing myself to consider the smaller, less flashy schools. I also like Wake Forest and Davidson College and UNC if that helps at all. BTW, I prefer that the school has a minority population...</p>

<p>You don't even really have to chance me; just a couple of suggestions of backup schools. UT Austin is already a guaranteed school for me to apply to. Thanks a lot! And sorry for my extensive need to ramble and tack on explanations. XD</p>

<p>I’m cursed. D: I mean, I’m really happy with these scores, but ***, they’re all the same! Weird. Anyways…</p>

<p>Do RD for Duke/Cornell - you’re in.
ED at either Pomona or Brown and you are pretty much in.</p>

<p>^ummm what? I’m sorry but OP is just “in”. Brown and Cornell are most definitely still reaches, and Pomona and Duke are low reaches or high matches. ED would of course boost your chances, but not the given degree as stated above. Chicago would be another great school to apply to, though it is not really a safety. Michigan might work out for you as a safety, though it is a pretty big school.</p>

<p>The rank is an issue unless by really competitive you mean yours is one of the few high schools sending over 25% to ivies.</p>

<p>It’s a highly competitive public high school but probably not that competitive. I say we have fifty people every year who get into Ivy-league/schools with similar rank…so with a class of about 500, that’s 10%. </p>
