chances at ivies/duke/NU/stanford/washst.lou

hey i've posted on stanford and duke but i haven't gotten many responses with my new stats/ i've been overthinking my situation too much so i no longer have any point of reference as to where i stand anymore and would really appreciate any outside opinions!!! :):)

lets see: white middle/upperclass girl from the eastcoast burbs, at a very high ranked public school for my state.

GPA: 3.95+ i'd geuss by normal standards (we're on a weird 6.0 system) but all A's with a few A-'s and A+'s. and one B+ which was jr year in english

Courseload: most difficult I could take (I got that advice early) 9 APs altogether, everything else was honors (like frosh/soph years), debate, and an authentic science research class (do independent research etc.)

SAT: 2140 CR: 800 math: 660 writing: 680

SAT2's: ushis:720, bioE: 670 taking lit, math2, and french in the fall. lets hope math2 especially is better than my sat1 score.

ACT: 35-eng 32-math 29-reading 30-science >> 32 composite

APs: Eng=5, Bio=5 (hoping this can make up for the sat2?), UShis=4, French=3

ECs: Debate (9,10,11,12) have superior distinction from NFL
Math Team (9,10,11,12) hoping/expecting sr yr leadership
Science League (10, 11,12) ldership here as well
NHS (11,12) (11, 12) <vice pres
Field Hockey (9,10) had to quit from surgery so joined a less contact sport... lol
Crosscountry (11,12)
PeerLeader (12) can only do this as a senior- youre elected by the faculty
Math & SciencePeerTutor(9,10,11,12)

There Is So Much Crap There I Cannot Imagine You Not Getting Into Everywhere, Seriously

haha yeah he said it.. retake SAT I though

White, upper middle=need higher test scores.

I have been reading through many posts trying to get some answers for help in where I should be applying to colleges and have just been getting SO depressed.

Here are my stats, no where near where everyone else seems to be.

I have a waited gpa of 3.72, have taken as many honor courses as I have been able, the weight on the school website says it is at 1.10 for honors.

My sats are poor - I just took them for the second time in June, they are Verbal - 520 and Math 580. (This is with private tutoring for the sats for five months!)

I have played school ball and have been captain of my jv team and have lettered in varsity.

My sophmore year of high school I had mono and it hurt my grades. I have, however been on high honor roll for most of my high school.

I want to study biological sciences.

Are there any suggestions for an unexciting applicant like me as to where to apply? I have auditory processing which I think did hurt me for the sats, however, it was something that I was never classified for - I have just worked hard to try to overcome my challenges.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

cece

lol cece, this is kind of my thread, thanks.

anyway, yea i agree i need to retake. should i forget about applying ED anywhere then?? --because i have to take some more SAT2s and then the SAT?

....?? lol

jennyanne:

test scores low overall. EC good but not great.

unless you get SAT to 2250+, no chance at HYPS. low chance at lower ivies and the other school you mentioned. better if you do ED.
