I am just a high school senior that needs to be put his mind at ease. My dream school is Tulane and I am really worried about my RD decision. So, I want to see what some of y’all have to say about:
My GPA: 3.76w
ACT: 25
SAT: 1110
5 AP Classes
15 Honors Classes
Extracurricular and Awards: Vice President of Community Service Group at school, National Honors Society, JROTC Program, Multiple Leadership positions including being in charge of 62 7th graders at a military boarding school, 9 Varsity letters, Teachers Assistant, Alabama Boys State, State and Region Champion in Track, and 2 jobs in high school.
Demographics: I am from Forsyth County, GA, my mother is from Russia and the primary language spoken at home is Russian.
No matter what your chances, hopefully you won’t have to wait much longer! My daughter is “on the bubble” for Tulane based on scores and GPA and the anxiety is palpable! Good luck to you!!!
Sadly, only 11. 85% of accepted students last year had ACT scores in your range, and 26.4 % had UW GPAs below 3.74, though the avg. GPA was 3.56. Not sure of the breakout of your SAT scores, but only 3%had scores in EBRW of 500-599 and 5.18% with math sores in that range.
Your being from Russian background is interesting, and if you are first generation that might be a tip, but based on stats, it is a very high reach, and unfortunately unlikely. Do you have other schools to which you have been admitted?
Yes, I have been admitted to others; I am currently waiting on a response from the Service Academies because I have also received a Congressional Nomination and I have extensive leadership, athletic, and community Service experience, and I know Tulane looks at your application as a Holistic Review. But, we will see.
I have been accepted to Ole Miss, ASU, West Virginia, Alabama, Mizzou, and Rutgers; I have received sizable scholarships for all schools, and I have an extremely tough schedule (according to my counselor) and my class rank is 10/129.
