Volunteer/Service Work: 60 Hours in volunteering on walks and such. Fundraised for cancer research.

Probably Scarlett Scholarship, definitely SAS honors

Do you think it would be beneficial not to take those 2 subject tests and apply early?

How much is scarlett worth? My family makes around 40k per year.

I think you should focus on SAT I and try to raise the score above 2250, SAT II for other private universities, then you have better chances for variety of scholarships. Good Luck.

How difficult are the honors classes, is it impossible to get As, do many get As?

Many get A’s, they’re better classes on the whole

Scarlet is worth $3,500, but they may add more ($1,500 - $4,000) depending on your financial situation.

I don’t know what the current numbers are but i do know that for a full presidential, Rutgers works by numbers alone. For last year, they were very specific. For a full presidential scholarship you needed a 4.0, unweighted. 2270 or 35/36. At least top 3%. No exceptions. No letters of recommendation. Cut and dried. But in prior years, the numbers were more lenient and they may be again. Just call admissions and ask.

As someone already said, you are a more likely candidate for the scarlett. It varies from (i think) $3500 to $7500. There are more flexible criteria for the scarlett and from my conversation with the head of admissions, they have flexibility for deciding who gets how much. Although she didn’t say it outright, my impression from the head of admissions was that the higher awards are not based on better qualifications, they are based on higher need, possibly saved for students who truly wouldn’t be able to attend without that money.

I have a reliable source who told me that all the students in her honors dorm get $3500. So, I wonder if recipients are more likely to be commuters or on campuses besides NB.

Please use this info only as a starting point since i could be wrong or things could have changed. Good luck.
