I'm a first generation natural born citizen, born to Nigerian immigrants here in my home state of NJ. My high school career has been a bit underwhelming so far. I had a 3.0 GPA in freshman year, but unfortunate personal circumstances in sophomore year saw that take a nosedive, leaving me with a 2.7 weighted, 2.6 UW. This has forced me to cut back on my Loyola MD aspirations and look in-state for the most part. However, I did pretty well on the PSAT (56 CR, 45 Math, 57 Writing for a 158 total score). My score showed my potential to succeed in AP classes. My current schedule is this:
- Pre-Calculus (doing okay)
- English 3 (doing pretty well)
- Spanish 2 (struggling)
- US History 2 (decent)
- Chemistry 1 (best class)

I'm currently looking at this potential schedule for senior year:
- AP Euro
- AP Psych
- English 4
- French 1
- Environmental Science
- Discrete Math/Probability of Statistics (both semester courses)

Extracurriculars:
9th grade - nothing
10th grade - Young Democrats Club, Helping Hands Club
11th grade - Young Democrats, Helping Hands, Support Our Troops, Gifts of Gold, Smiles for Seniors, Water for Africa
12th grade: most likely all of the above, and I may even start a Geography Club

Assuming I do well for the rest of this year, and get a B+ average in my AP classes as well as an A average in everything else as a senior, and get a 1580 on the SAT, what are my chances of acceptance into:
- Montclair State
- Pace
- Monmouth University
- Seton Hall
- Hofstra
- Quinnipiac
- Rider University
- Rowan University
- Fairleigh Dickinson at Madison

What would my chances at each school be if I got at least a 1700?

Honesty is appreciated, thanks in advance :)

you’ll be fine at seton hall rider rowan and fdu if you can get like a 1700+ on the real sat just based on the fact you are taking an ap based courseload and are an urm. Can’t really comment on the other sorry.
Good Luck!

This is based on 1580 score. You shouldn’t ask for chances if you don’t have actual SAT scores, since it is hard to predict how you will do, if you don’t have concrete scores.

I reread my answer, and I’m sorry if I come across as upset or mean. I was just trying to say that it won’t be as accurate. Sorry! I’m cringing now.

I would truly say that your chances are very high for all of your choices, except for Pace which could be very picky. Why not aim for an 1800 on your SAT? You can do it!

Okay, so I’ve gone on this site called CollegeXpress and I’ve clicked on schools that I’m interested in…will they actually recruit me, or is it just marketing?

Personally, I think you can (easily) get into most of the universities, just keep up the hard work and try to bump up your SAT score to as much as you possibly can.

I think every college mentioned is a perfect match!! Try and get a higher SAT scores simply so you will be a more competitive applicant, but other than that I think you are good to go!
