You need to apply TO.

How many APs does your school offer ?

I’d say you should look at other fine engineering schools such as Alabama, UAH, Mississippi State, Iowa State, Arizona, Mizzou, Arkansas, Kentucky, Cincinnati.

I’ll assume you are from Indians since you have two Indians state schools plus Rose Hulman. I don’t understand why you’d apply to IU…you can’t do engineering there.

I think your list is all unlikely but I could see you getting in at RHIT…but can you afford.

The list I gave you will be affordable and are all likely for you. Good luck

Ps…check average SATs b4 submitting

Your chances will definitely be greater if you apply test optional. Also, you should give some thought about Engineering as your choice of major if you had a 620 on the math section of the SAT. Considering a different major may save you a lot of headaches in the future.

The biggest factor is going to be cost. How much can your family afford to pay each year? If you have an unlimited budget, you will have many options. If your budget is $30K/yr, you options are not as many. If your budget is $20K, your options will be limited to in-state public universities.

The 1180 isn’t terrible overall, but if you’re applying for an Engineering Major, you definitely need to apply test optional at all schools on your list.

Assuming Indiana is your home state, definitely apply to Purdue. I’d say Cincinnati is a great option for you, if your family can afford it as an Out Of State student with the extra tuition costs.

Depending on budget, also check out University of Dayton, University of St Thomas, Marquette, Manhattan College, WVU, UAH, and NM Tech and NMSU.

I’m not dead set on engineering, just a math and science major in general. For example, I’m interested in studying astrophysics at IU

You can study astrophysics at other schools too. But if you applied engineering you’ve only given yourself one alternate choice. You could, for example, have a chance at Purdue for physics but likely not engineering.

The big thing is with a 3.85/4.14 there’s lots of merit out there to bring costs down. we all listed schools above. Two others would be UTK and U of Arizona.

I would apply for what you want. It’s likely easier to go from engineering to physics than vice versa.

Even if schools don’t list astrophysics, if you look at their catalogs there’s probably some level of it or a focus on it.

Good luck.

Congrats. But I hope you don’t go and you apply to some of the schools mentioned for engineering…which is what you want.

I applied to Kentucky!

Wouldn’t kill you to add a couple more like Cincy, UTK, WVU. That said I know you applied to IUPUI.

My old boss’ son did engineering at UK and has done very well - internship and job wise.

Congrats on IU and I hope you find what you are looking for.
