Your SAT score seems a bit low for admission to the COE at Purdue, even as an in-state student.
Here is a link to the Purdue Data Digest: https://www.purdue.edu/datadigest/. If you go to the link for the “New First-Time Beginner Profile” there are interactive features which allow you to input your own personal data, so that you can compare it with those of admitted in-state engineering students students. This may give you some ideas about how you compare to admitted first-year students.

Thank think it’s going to be a reach with your scores.
I’d apply test optional, assuming you mean this year.
I think that a 3.85 from an in-State student with a rigorous course profile, strong ECs, and competitive athletic possibility actually has a fair chance.
If you are applying this year and didn’t apply by the early deadline, that would lower your chances. Engineering gets quite full after EA.
I applied early, however I did apply with test scores just because my math is decent
I also got accepted Direct Admit at IU for college of arts and sciences
Congrats on IU. What will you study there?
Your SAT is not remotely competitive for Purdue engineering.
If you want to be an engineer, there’s many schools where you could do so - and possibly with merit to make it affordable - Alabama, UAH, UT Knoxville, Iowa State, Kentucky, etc.
IU is a wonderful school but if you are in Arts & Sciences, you’re not going to get the engineering you desire. I guess you could do Physics.
Plenty of out of state options where you could study what you want.
Good luck.
computer science, I’ve been floating between wanting engineering or this degree
Personally if Engineering is your top desire but maybe CS I would not go to IU but an affordable OOS that has both and I listed several.
If you decide CS wasn’t right after all but you do like engineering you won’t have that option at IU.
I did apply to University of Kentucky, so hopefully i get some scholarships
Good. There may be time to apply to others. Iowa State has become very popular as has Bama and UTK. Check out Mizzou, Arkansas and WVU too . You have options!! On the cc many say Iowa state responds within a day or two. Check it out if affordability an issue.
Hope you get Purdue. But I would not settle for another major. If you truly think you might want to be an engineer go where it’s possible.
Good luck.
Even though your math score is good, it’s well below Purdue’s COE Class of 2025 average of 719. https://www.purdue.edu/datadigest/
What math class do you have this year?
I do think IU would be ok for CS in Arts and Sciences, but if you end up not liking CS what other majors would you be interested in?
I second applying to Iowa State, you might also look at U Dayton.
What is your budget? Is IU, at around $25K in-state cost of attendance, affordable?
I’m taking Calculus AB; I want to stay in state.
Also honors finite and an intro to engineering class, AP Chem, AP Bio
There’s so much merit aid at OOS colleges - I just don’t see staying at IU if you can’t do engineering and it’s a possibility. But if you want to stay in-state, how about IUPUI? I know Evansville has engineering but obviously a smaller school and then Rose-Hulman is outstanding but not cheap and likely very competitive.
That said, you can do extremely well financially - schools like Mizzou, WVU, Arkansas, Alabama for larger and then UAH or Missouri Science & Tech smaller.
I’m interested in chemical, but was already directly admitted for biomedical eng there
Where ? IUIPUI?
Yes
Great. Congrats
Update: Admitted to FYE for Purdue
