<p>I am a girl going into my junior year in high school My top two dream colleges are Stanford and Columbia, but I will apply to all </p>

<p>Unweighted GPA: 3.93
Rank: 9 out of 380
(I probably would be higher, but my freshman year was a little shaky. But since I’m doing better, I’ll probably rise)
I haven’t taken the SAT yet, but I hope to get over a 2200, though my actual goal is a 2400.</p>

<p>I took AP World History and got a 3, unfortunately. </p>

<p>Throughout high school, I plan to take AP: Calculus, US History, French, Biology or Chemistry, English 3, English 4, Government, Economics, Psychology, and Music Theory.</p>

<p>I take Honors/Pre-AP classes whenever available.</p>

<p>EC’s:
President of French Club
French National Honor Society
National Honor Society
Student Council
Varsity Tennis
Played piano for eleven years (But only taken lessons for eight of those)
Taken drum lessons for three years
Have a part-time job at my church as a child-care worker
Am shadowing a doctor (40 hours)
<em>I plan to join HOSA, as I decided I would like to be a doctor, Key Club, and the Academic Team. I realize I should have joined these earlier, but I recently revised my priorities.</em></p>

<p>Volunteer Work:
A camp where we fix houses for those in need
Bible School
A mission group at my church
A program for kids, in my church (for part of freshman year)</p>

<p>Awards: (I don’t have many)
Tennis Freshman Girls Singles District Champ (I might have been JV this year, but I tore my ACL)
I have had perfect attendance nine years of my life.
I was also nominated for the Chemistry Pre-AP Award, but I didn’t win.

<p>I don’t know if this makes a difference but I am black. I was born in England and moved here when I was about five. My dad says that it might hurt me, because I wasn’t born in the US, but I don’t know.</p>

<p>I know this is quite long, but if you could give me advice on how to stand out and better my application, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!</p>

<p>P.S. Could you tell me what you think of my chances for other Ivies as well?</p>

<p>I think your SAT goal is unrealistic, I have no idea your actual test taking ability, but take it before you say you think you will have at least a 2200. Cut down on your EC’s, get rid of a few and use the time you were spending on them to focus on the few that are most important to you.</p>

<p>I don’t think your odds are great, but I say that to almost anybody who wants to go to an ivy. If you can get the test scores you think you will and keep up the grades you will have a shot. Remember you also need to take the SAT Subject tests (you should take at least three). I would focus on doing well and finding safeties (it sounds bad, but if all you are looking at are ivies currently there is an issue).</p>

<p>Last here is my opinion on what you should not list/not even think about in terms of resume.</p>

<li>Panther Pals (no idea what it is, might be impressive, but at the least explain what it is)</li>

<li>I was also nominated for the Chemistry Pre-AP Award, but I didn’t win. (you did not win, personally I don’t think you should list something if you did not win).</li>

<p>Well this part “I don’t know if this makes a difference but I am black.” really changed my view of your chances. If you are indeed African American, a URM, and a girl…then i’d say your chances for most ivies are high (and for stanford).</p>

<p>The thing holding you back the most is the awards I think. A lot of people who get into the ivies have great awards (not just academic). </p>

<p>I’d say just do well on your ap’s, and get a good SAT score then you should probably get into most ivies. Your gpa and class rank are already quite solid.</p>

<p>My first and only practice this summer was a 1960. I know my goal is high, but I figured I might as well aim high to get high.
French NHS has no leadership positions.
