I want to know whether i should apply to Caltech or Stanford at early action.
In our school, we treat early decision and early action as the same so even if i do get admitted to caltech, i cannot apply to other schools

I also want to know my chances for getting accepted into Princeton and MIT; that I should not take my chances in early action and wait so that i could apply at the regular.

You ought to apply caltech early action, since caltech places more importance on SAT scores and academics. You stand a good chance of getting in anyway! Your ECs are decent (can clearly see that you are great at chemistry!) but you will stand a better chance had you made it into the national team! However, your SAT scores are impressive though! Frankly speaking, I would say you will get into at least one of the four schools: Caltech, Stanford, Princeton, MIT. Gd luck!

Caltech - low reach
Princeton - reach
MIT - reach

I can't imagine you not getting into the schools above

I say your 150% in.

They should build a more competitive school for a super applicant like you

Geez, how do you have time to have fun lol?

You're only weakness is that you're international from my understanding, as schools accept very few international students due to various reasons (at least that's what they said at MIT). But because this is a pretty hardcore application, you're bound to make it in at least one--you have a better chance than alot of American students.

You are from Minjok or Daewon aren't you? Haha, I'm sure.

To the other posters: it doesn't matter if the OP is international since his high school is very highly regarded in top caliber US schools.

In everywhere. Good luck =)

I think basically if you were from the US and made it into any same-caliber competitions you would be, basically, auto-in for MIT. Since you are an international student I won't say for certain, but with an application like that it's still hard to imagine you not getting into anything you listed.

Also, I'd EA for Caltech instead because it's not restricting, that way you can also EA MIT if you liked. (Though I'm not sure how that would work? Assuming then you can only EA one school?) But either way, you should know that overall Caltech is a smaller school and generally "stereotyped" as less diverse, for those reasons you might like Stanford better. But I think you'd enjoy MIT the most.

Nice! You are very qualified. Yeah, I definitely suggest Caltech EA. You have great chances

dude you are insane...i hope you have a great love for chemistry (like me) seeing as you've been so successful in competitions and stuff
btw you have great shot at MIT depending on essays...i'd personally apply early there

wow dude...that's simply an ownage app.

Let me be the first to congratulate you to the Cal tech/MIT/Princeton/Stanford class of 2013 :)

As I posted on one of the other Korean student's chance thread, you really need to stand out from the crowd of the fellow Korean applicants to be noticed by the top schools. However, you do have a very good chance at MIT and Caltech considering all your science and math achievements. I would say No from Pton and...the tree.

Wow, you're in in my opinion. But seriously, what stuff do you do as 'fun' and how often each week? Because your stats are what everyone aspires to so hopefully you can shed some light by telling us how much work/college related/volunteering stuff you do every day.

He can't apply for MIT on EA I think because he isn't American/permanent resident. Only flaw I can see with you is not many long ECs (A lot of 1-2 year things) which seems like merely for college.

A cynical adcom might also think you're a typical Korean who doesn't enjoy Chemistry but is just amazing at in and went to the camps to continue your dominance at your school.

But regardless, your academic rankings are spectacular. Perhaps think about applying to Cambridge? Its purely academic based and very good university obviously.

wow.. you're just... just wow. I have a friend just like you, and he got accepted to everywhere and attended harvard. For tons of people out there, admission to ivy seems random, but for you it's just formulaic. You're in for all.

if u were domestic , then yes, ur pretty much in for those schools. but as an international, its going to be tough. i've seen quite a few internationals with better stats than you...

^ you gotta be kidding. What do you mean better stats than him? There's no such thing unless he's an IMO, IPhO, IChO kid with 2400 and maybe a 4.0 GPA. Still, 4 ChO gold, 2380, 3.99 can't be much less than that.

Well, the only weakness i see is that you haven't gotten involved with your school community too much, since all you've done is science and a little bit of service groups, but i don't think that'll even matter, since you have such amazing qualifications in other areas. Very very good chances.

Minjok, I assume? My friend goes there. =D
Cal Tech and MIT almost guaranteed.
Stanford is a little reach, but with your stuff, prolly get in, esp. with EA.
were you ever on Golden Bell?

I read that article in the Times. It was very well written; and you are very frightening. Good luck, I'm sure you'll do well in admissions!

you are impressive, but i kinda worry about you people.

for the people suggesting MIT EA, internationals must apply RD for MIT

i clap and boo at your resume. u know why.

EA CAl tech for sure, OK chance at STanford. if you're confident about your essays, u can go for EA. u got the grades to back it up ;). try relaxing a bit when u get into college....some time for fun....lol
