*Reach for all Ivys because they are Ivys lol. You have a good chance at all of em tho. :)

Your ECs are amazing! Your ECs strongly represent your passion towards Political Science, and they will help you out in your college admission. Chance me back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1519772-chances-cooper-union-i-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

You’re obviously a poly sci major, your ECs show your focus. Your volunteering is all political-related, which yes is good for an EC but doesn’t show that you’re a caring individual beyond your goals quite as well. That may be your weak point. Your stats are perfectly fine. I’m going to assume california residency as well. Good a shot as anyone. Maybe a teensy bit more leadership would help as well.

Stanford (SCEA): Reach (I’d put it at approx. 30% shot)
Georgetown: Low Reach (great shot because of how political you are)
UCLA:High Match/Low Reach (Remember, the UCs are all stats based)
UC Berkeley: Low Reach. Most competitive of the UCs.
Princeton: Reach (lower chance then stanford, but higher then average)
Cornell: Low reach
UChicago: High Match/Low Reach
UC Davis: Low Match

I’m assuming you have safeties as well, if not I’d suggest adding some. Maybe some privates (Santa Clara or Loyola Marymont) that give merit aid and some lower UCs. Good luck.

Please chance back at:

Stanford- reach (for everyone)
Georgetown- high match/ low reach, esp with all your internships and stuff
UCLA UCB- low reach, prob bit of better chances if you’re out of state (they want more full-paying students)
UCD- match
Princeton- high reach
Cornell- low reach
UChicago- reach

Your ECs show commitment to your major and interests which will help you a lot! Also great GPA and SATs. Unfortunately most of the Ivys and selective schools are a crapshoot for everyone, but I think you have a really good shot!

Thank you all for chancing me, I’ve returned the favor  . @neuromajor, I can see what you mean with only political-oriented volunteering, but do volunteer with the SPCA, I help run a charity at school, and have peer tutored since sophomore year for free after school (definitely forgot to put that on!) Hope that will help me out a little! Also, UCD was a safety I’d be happy going to, but I’ll probably apply to some CSUs and UCSB as well.

Thank you again!

It’s nice to see a fellow liberal on CC! Your ECs definitely show your interest in politics, and your other stats are very competitive for your prospective colleges.

I’d imagine that you’ll get into at least one of your reach schools, if not more. Good luck!

Stanford, Princeton, UChicago- Low Reach (it’s a crapshoot for anyone these days)
Berkeley, UCLA, Cornell- Match
UC Davis- Safety

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1520857-chance-me-these-8-lacs.html#post16099454</a></p>

You have a pretty good chance for all your schools! As always, Ivies are a reach. Your GPA and SAT2 scores are great! And your ECs are amazing! But if I were you, I would take my SATs one last time (if you took it less than 3 times already) for a higher superscore, or take the ACTs. Write a killer essay, and I’m sure you’ll get in!

Thank you all for chancing me, and I’ve returned the favor. I got the 2250 my first time, and honestly I don’t think my score would go up that much more if I retook it. I may try the ACT, however.

Thanks again!

Stanford (SCEA): reach
Georgetown: high match
UCLA: match

UChicago: Reach
UC Davis: Safety

I think you have a great shot at Stanford. They like free, entrepreneurial types, and you’ve done some impressive stuff EC-wise. Your grades are excellent, and SATs are good, and you’re Californian, so I think Stanford would look favorably upon you.

Georgetown should be cake to get into after all the political and administrative experience you’ve had, and your grades/sats are great too.

Chance back?: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1508837-chance-princeton-upenn-jerome-fisher-ivies-etc.html</a></p>

Stanford (SCEA): Reach
Georgetown: High Match
UCLA: Match
UC Berkeley: Match
Princeton: High Reach
Cornell: Low Reach
UChicago: Reach
UC Davis: Low Match

You have a great shot. If you’re looking at political science, I’d recommend Georgetown as your first choice considering how prominent its foreign service school is. However, Stanford isn’t entirely out of your range and being a Califorian who’s applying early should only help.

Chance back?: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1520982-chance-me-top-schools-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

Stanford (SCEA) - Reach (always is)
Georgetown - High match
UCLA - Match
UC Berkeley - Match
Princeton - Reach (always is)
Cornell - Low reach
UChicago - Reach (with stellar essays, you might make it)
UC Davis - Low match

Apply to more Ivies so your chances at one of them rises. I think you might get into one.

Georgetown is looking pretty positive. I got in with basically a lesser version of the same resume.

Thanks for chancing me, everyone! I chanced back everyone who provided a link, and I don’t think I found a thread for the others. If I missed anyone, please let me know and I’ll be sure to do it :)

@CSIHSIS, really? That makes me so happy to hear, I absolutely adore Georgetown and it’s great to get a student’s perspective  Thank you so much!!

Judging from previous admission statistics, I think you should not have any problem getting into Berkeley and LA’s College of L&S as an in-state applicant.

Stanford will be a reach but it’s the case of most people, but you are certainly qualified. I’m really not sure about other schools because I’m an international applicant. All the best!

Would be great if you chance me for some Californian schools too!

UC Berkeley - High Match

Princeton - Reach
