Chance me for Stanford

Stanford is my dream school and I’ve submitted my application but I want to know if I even have a shot.

Major: Psychology

SAT: 2060
700 CR
710 M
650 W

ACT: 31 Composite
33 English
29 Math
33 Reading
30 Science

GPA:
4.7 weighted, 3.95 unweighted
Top 5% of class

9 AP classes throughout high school, AP Scholar, several other awards within school and community

Lots of extracurriculars with leadership positions, good amount of community service.

My essays were great, short answers were pretty good.

From what I’ve been told, my recommendations were spectacular.

Need REALLY strong essays to compensate test scores.

Your test scores are a bit on the low side, so your essays, recommendations, and passions will have to really go through. Stanford is one of the hardest schools to get into, so admissions will be a crapshoot no matter how qualified you are. Good luck!

<5%

Very low chance with those scores (high reach).

What exactly are your extracurriculars/leadership positions? Your test scores are pretty low for Stanford but Stanford does put a good emphasis on leadership. It’'s definitely a reach but your EC’s could get you where you need to go.

it is a reach, but definitely not IMPOSSIBLE

Elaborate more on your EC’s. Any passions?

I have a passion for music with leadership positions in 4 musical groups
I’ve been selected for multiple honor bands/orchestras
Vice President of National Honor Society
President/Founder of a service club
Multiple school academic awards
School ambassador/mentor

I’ve difficult life circumstances over the past two years but have been able to get even more involved through them.
It’s has entailed taking on a lot of extra responsibility at home/getting a job to help make ends meet.

Your chance is about the acceptance rate if you’re an URM. If not, it’s a very high reach (1%ish).
