Hey guys. I was just wondering my chances of getting into Stony. Not really looking to go into top schools but Stony is pretty much the only school I want to go to.

GPA: 4.0

Rank: Top 10%

APs: Bio (4), Calc AB (5), World (4)

Extracurriculars:
This is the part that worries me the most. I barely take part in any school activities since I hold a job after school.

  • I work at an after school program at an elementary school right after my school ends.
  • Ran Cross Country during junior year, having doubts whether I should join senior year though.
  • Volunteered at the New York Aquarium during my sophomore year.

Other Stuff:
Financial Aid: Of course, I’m broke af.
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Asian (Chinese)
I attend a NYC public school.

I would encourage you to broaden your horizons and look at other schools. Stony Brook routinely appears on lists of the “unhappiest” schools
