Chance me for sum skools??

<p>Sophomore PSAT: 220
SAT II US History: 780
SAT II Math II: 720 (already retook it and I'm sure I did a lot better)
SAT I: Taking it next year</p>

<p>Un-Weighted GPA: 3.9
Weighted GPA: 4.8</p>

<p>Taken one AP so far (I think I got a 5), but I'm taking 4 or 5 more next year and 4 or 5 more senior year</p>

<p>I also go to a pretty big high school, with almost 800 kids in my grade.</p>

<p>Extracurriculars: (<strong>I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT COUNTS AS AN EC</strong> so I'll just put everything)
- Varsity spring track Freshman year, varsity cross country Sophomore year (around 350th in the state, 150th exactly for Class LL), most improved award, (right now I'm injured)
- Personal Record: 17:20 5k
- Placed really high in a few community road races, in one I think I got 5/500
- Play recreational basketball in the winter (lol does this count for anything?)
- Bronze on a Level 4 National Spanish Exam (Also taken by Spanish 6H students and AP Spanish students)
- 3rd place in schoolwide academic essay contest (usually won by upperclassmen)
- Member of Science Team (maybe captain for next year), and Model UN club
- I have been tutoring middle schoolers on saturdays
- I volunteered at my elementary school's October funraiser past two years (measly 8 hours combined)
- Volunteered playing piano at a retirement home (only once so far for 5 hours but I'm going to do it more)
- Volunteered at the local museum's seaside center last summer for 22 hours
- Went on a 10-day mission trip to San Jose, Costa Rica with my church which we fundraised (70+ hours)
- I'm going to be a sailing instructor in Sweden this year and I took a five week online group video chat and textbook course on leadership and youth coaching (in Swedish)
- I've been playing piano for 5 years and love it and am probably going to take AP music theory to help it
- I played at Weill Recital Hall (in Carnigie Hall) in New York
- I'm also soon done with an iPhone app that took a long time to make (It's called Squares of Justice and will probably be released after finals in a month) I share the publishing certificate thing with a friends because it was expensive and splitting the $100/year cost would make it easier to make our money back.</p>

<p>^^I included everything I could think of and I think a lot of those things aren't really big enough to be considered extracurriculars but really IDK.</p>

<p>I'm soon done with my sophomore year and I'm wondering what schools I should look at or visit next year, but more importantly also what I can do to improve my resume! Any serious suggestions are really appreciated!</p>

<p>There are questions that need answers:</p>

<ol>
<li>What’s your budget?</li>
<li>What are your geographical preferences?</li>
<li>Do you prefer small or big schools?</li>
<li>What major do you intend to pursue in college?</li>
</ol>

<p>Thanks for your response! Sorry I left those out, they are pretty important

  1. Anything…
  2. West Coast, North East or Mid Atlantic
  3. Big for sure
  4. Probably Finance or Economics, maybe Engineering or Computer Science</p>

<p>Finance/Economics:
Georgetown, Penn (Wharton), Washington U, Notre Dame, NYU Stern, and ofc, HYP</p>

<p>Comp. Sci:
UC Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, MIT, U of Illinois UC (UIUC), and Cornell.</p>

<p>I’d say you have a decent shot at most these colleges except Ivies (because it is so unpredictable, not that you’re bad) if you keep up the good work.</p>

<p>Thanks! What are some things that I should work on to improve my resume? (really any realistic suggestions would help) I want my chances to be as high as possible at whatever school I apply to.</p>

<p>Retake Math 2C and score 750+
2250+ on SAT I</p>
