My SAT scores are really low and so is my GPA compare to others but my Class rank isn't that bad. I'm around 150/500 students. I have an 86.9 Average but my SAT is really low.. I'm financially qualified for EOP program but I know nothing about that. I'm in an honors program where every class is almost honors/IB/AP. So my average is very low because of the rigorous courses. And honors program are required to take challenging courses so i can't drop them.
My sat is CR 470 , Math is 500 writing is 480. = 1480 .

i really want to get into suny buffalo and albany and i know my average doesn't make up for it but does showing my transcript full of rigorous courses help? My weighted courses are: ib physics, ib math studies, ap literature, ap english, ap government, ap us history, chemistry, and my school forced us to take lots of extra classes.

I applied for EOP/Reg. What are my chances for both schools based on regular and eop?
I dont want to look at the average stats..I want to know people's opinion based on experience like if someone they know who have a low sat score got into the school..?

Yes I know several people who got into those SUNY schools, but our school is fairly competitive (ranked 47 in the nation) even though we are OOS. Those kids I knew had similar SAT scores to your’s but their GPA’s and grades accounted for.

Erm, not really people prefer A’s and B’s in advanced classes rather than C’s or failing in them. I am sorta in the same situation as you, but due to family emergencies and all. But if you explain a plausible cause for a lower grade (in your case, rigorous classes) in your essay… you should be good to go I think

Based on my school’s past admission reports, all the students with the same GPA range and SAT as you got into Albany.None of them got rejected from Albany.
You should be able to get into Albany. If you’re EOP,your chances are a bit higher.Colleges will see that you took hard courses and they’ll be able to understand. But,your sat is pretty low.
If you raise your sat, you should have an okay chance at buffalo and stony.

I am a former EOP student. You will be fine with both schools. And now we come full circle…30 years after graduation and now I am full pay with twins in college. Not one dime of FA. (As a single mother!) My turn to pay it forward. Good luck its a great program and a great opportunity!
