Chance me for TAMS

Hi, I am a freshman planning to apply for TAMS in the fall of 2020 and join as a junior, however with my grades I really don’t think I’m going to make it. Can someone view my grades and tell me what they think my odds are. My SAT is a 1380.

Geometry preap - 93
principles of applied engineering - 97
ap human geography - 88
english preap gt- 90
biology preap- 91
algebra 2 preaap- 92
spanish 2 preap - 94

I really think my grades are garbage, and I heard that you need to be very high scoring to get in, and I think I won’t get in with these. I’m in about 4 stem related clubs and I run cross country for my school as well as being an exec in 1 of the clubs.

Please don’t hesitate to be brutal with your responses. I want the most honest opinion because whenever I ask my counselor she always says “yeah you’ll get in” but someone with a cumulative 78 asked her and she said he had a good chance.

My SAT is 1390. But I can probably raise it to 1450-1460.

Could you help me out @seanstert

Hey! I’m actually going to be interviewing for tams in two weeks, and based off of what I’ve seen and heard from others, I think you have a very good chance of getting in next year. I would tell you to keep your grades up and shoot for some harder classes next year, but you’re on a great track. You’ll have a much better chance of being accepted if you apply very early, so keep that in mind. As your admission isn’t solely based off of grades, try to write an essay that reflects you as a person. I wish you the best luck, and I hope we both get in and you’ll be my junior next year!
