Hey y’all, I’m applying for the TAMS class of 2023. I’m from the Dallas area and just wanted to get some insight on my chances.

SAT(I took the August SAT so these scores are based on my practice test average) : 680 reading, 790 math

Outstanding Club Leader for Texas Youth and Government
1st Prize School Science Fair (F in the chat for state)
Various Math Competitions

Other TAMS related things:
I’m apply for CS. (I have a large amount of GitHub projects mostly revolving around machine learning. For example for science fair I made a new path finding algorithm.)
My older brother went to TAMS
I went to a preview day
I got into Duke Tip
I have secured outstanding recommendations.
I’m applying as early as possible.

I am mostly making this post due to the concerning amount of B’s I have in my classes.

Hello! This might be a little late, but anyway I’m a current TAMS senior and you look decent enough, but your grades are a little worrying. You need to pull them up in 10th grade. Getting a higher reading/writing score will help offset your english grades a little, but it may not be enough. In terms of extra curriculars, you’ll probably be okay but just keep in mind that the majority of people that get in will have much more than what you listed. The GitHub projects and whatnot are great, make sure they really show your passion for CS in your application. For you, writing a really good essay will be important, and if you get an interview, you’ll need to do well on that and the math diagnostics.
