Chance me for the big schools...

I'm a Junior, and college apps have never looked more real with all the seniors getting their RD decisions. I'm an American Born Chinese (American citizenship), and I attend an international school in Beijing.

Stanford's my dream school, but I'm also considering schools like UChicago, the Ivys, and the Claremont schools. Chance me, please?

Unweighted GPA - 3.92, Weighted - 4.04 (My school only weights classes with extra 0.5, and honors aren't weighted)

I'm a full IB Diploma candidate, taking classes that guarantee me a bilingual diploma.

SAT's - 2350 (800/800/750 M/CR/W)
SAT II - 750 on lit, pending results for Math II and Physics.

EC's-
Coordinator (president) for service program that works with local kids to teach English. I'm also a member of the school-wide service student board/council.
Copresident and cofounder for another service program that worked to raise money for local Chinese children with disabilities.
JV Baseball captain and MVP this year, guaranteed Varsity next year
Track & Field team member
Varsity Forensics member, along with individual gold and silver medals at the championship tournament. Also spearheaded a student initiative for a significant overhaul of tournament rules.
Participant and medalist in the inaugural Yale Championship round for the World Scholars Cup (top 10% or so in the world), and I am a student coach/leader of my school's team.
Design studio member as Website development and maintenance team member and co-leader

No legacy, first generation college student in the United States (parents were educated in China and moved to the US afterwards, where I was born).

Considering majoring in CS, but also considering a more broad range of coursework (i.e. liberal arts). However, I will almost certainly spend freshman year undeclared.

Considering EA at Stanford... chance me?

I don’t really know how your GPA works, because I study in a different system, but I think your ECs are fantastic and so is your sat scores. i’d say you’re probably a reach for Stanford
I think what matters now is your essay.

i mean i just said reach because people say that stanford is pretty much a reach for everybody but really, you’re not far off. how about a near match instead?

Just an fyi: the fact that you will be the first in your family to study at an American college doesn’t count for anything.

Stanford is always a crap shoot, even if your scores and GPA are far above average.

I think we both understand that most students from China applying to American schools have the same numbers as you do, so there will be a lot of competition. I honestly don’t think being Chinese American will give you an advantage whatsoever.

All I can say is good luck.

Hey thanks for the replies but I’d love to get a few more opinions so bumpppp

Even if I don’t get anymore after this (doesn’t look like I will) I’d love to chance some other people (PM me or just reply here). Still, I hope I get some more takes here.
