Chance me for these schools?

<p>-Schools that I am imteresting/applying to: Allegheny, Colgate, Dickinson, Gettysburg, Skidmore, Union and Rochester .</p>

<p>-Male</p>

<p>-NY resident-I have dual citizenship in Nigeria and the USA.</p>

<p>-Nigerian Immigrant parents. Both are citizens.</p>

<p>-Majors that interest me-(1) Neuroscience (2) Philosophy. I plan to go into medical school after college. </p>

<p>-GPA: 91/100(UW).....so 3.6-3.7 on 4-point scale I guess. No ranking. Class size of 12. </p>

<p>-SAT: May 2011: 630(M) 570(CR) 710(W) 1910 combined. I'm taking another one this December and I am expecting a 670(CR) 710(M) and 740(W) 2120 combined......This is an estimate from all my practice tests so it should be pretty accurate. </p>

<p>-Schooling: I went to a medium size public high school in 9th grade then spend a year schooling in Nigeria for 10th grade(parents decision). For 11th and 12th grade I'm settled in a small christian private school (The only classes that are offered are honors. I'm taking the most rigorous classes available at my school.) Curee</p>

<p>ECs:
-Active Choir Member in my church (I sing) for 4-5years and youth group member. (takes up 4-5 hours of my time each Saturday but I still love it)
-Boys running club (11th/12th grade)
-JV football(9th grade)
-JV track(9th grade)
-Mock Trial(12th grade)-would've participated in 11th grade but I had a busy schedule.
-Yearbook Club(12th grade)-can only do this in 12th grade
-Active Member of CMN (a NGO that does community outreach)
-Volleyball Club(12th grade)-Club was created in 12th grade.
-I participated in some school related ECs while in Nigeria but I dont know if i should list them.
-I also participate in several volunteer activities organized by the school. We also do community cleanups.
Awards:
-Well my school doesn't really offer any......Only thing was some recognition for a 90+ average during last year's graduation. </p>

<p>Essay:
-Based on responses from peers/teachers...pretty good</p>

<p>Teacher reqs:
-I have good relationships with my science/math teachers and I do very well in thier classes. So I think those LORs will be great. </p>

<p>Hooks: URM. Dunno if I am first gen because my mom only has an associate degree and my Dad schooled in Nigeria. </p>

<p>Others things:
I'm thinking about applying ED to Colgate.
Will be doing interviews at certain colleges.</p>

Gettysburg- high match/low reach
Skidmore- match

Rochester- high match</p>

<p>It would drastically help you at all of these schools if you could bring up your sat a little bit.
It would also help if the first grading period of your senior year, you bring your gpa up a bit.
Also, make sure that you talk about your unique experiences studying in Nigeria and such, few kids can say something like that and colleges look for unique students! </p>

<p>All these schools seem like a match. Advise on the major… Anything but philosophy, I know someone who graduated with a 3.8 at uc Berkeley with philosophy and isn’t doing anything with the degree… Do a biological or social science…

Thanks for the advise. I was thinking Philosophy because I kinda have an interest in it. I’m aiming for medical school anyway so, I don’t think finding a job with a Philosophy should be a concern for me. </p>
