Considering Oxy, Lewis & Clark, Puget Sound, Whittier, Linfield, and others.

Junior in HS
GPA - 3.18, would be around a 3.3 if not for the first semester of my freshman year
Taking the ACT, SAT, and SAT II Literature Test. PSAT was 185, PLAN predicted 29-31 range (both with no studying beforehand). Ideal goal is 2000-2100 and 30-32.
ECs - Theater for almost 4 years, outside of school for 2, LINK crew, Key Club, choir since elementary school

Current classes - Algebra II, AP Lang, Music Theory, Acting, Choir, AP Euro, French III, Chem

Next year I should be in 2 APs (Lit and Music Theory) and possibly two courses that give college credit at the local community school.

I'm from a low income family out of state from all of those schools and I'm a URM (mom is black, dad is white, I consider myself black). Sadly I'm far from first gen, mother has a Masters, father has a PhD from a highly prestigious university.

I want to major in non-performance music or (ethno)musicology. Chance me?

Please guys, make my life a little easier, I’d really appreciate it. I’ve done research of my own but gotten mixed results as answers. My case might not be very interesting, but I wouldn’t have come here if I didn’t want opinions.

And I’ve seen plenty of idiots at my school get into linfield and you are WAY more qualified then them and seem really bright so don’t worry about that hahah

Jferguson12345 - Thanks! I would chance you back but I’m still pretty new to chancing and I don’t think I’d have very solid input. But I super appreciate your feedback (:

BookBook - Thanks, that definitely made me more confident lol. L&C and Oxy are my top two at the moment (I go back and forth a lot though…) and I’m really glad you think I could get into them.

I think you have a great chance at all of them. Your GPA and test scores fall into their ranges so if you keep that up you have a good shot. The only tough one might be Oxy.
