[li]Here's some background on my school situation: I suffered with a disease that kept me incapacitated throughout my whole ninth grade year. As a result, I did poorly and failed many classes. However, this was just because of the illness because my teachers had bragged about me previously. This was also a rigorous private school that expected me to behave as a normal student when I clearly wasn't. I asked to be removed from the school because I didn't want to jeopardize my chances for college. Since I didn't finish the second semester, I only had credit for the first semester of most of those classes.
[/li]

However, I switched to a very flexible alternative school that uses a one-on-one approach to teaching (which worked perfectly with me because while I don't have a learning disorder or trouble learning, I'm gifted and always felt held back in my classes). I've fixed my GPA and it's been up since, and I'm ready to apply for college!
[li]I have excellent teacher recommendations because I'm friends with all my teachers. :D
[/li]
