bump 10char

I’m no expert, but I’d say you’ll get in pretty well…

thanks! i hope so, but after reading things on CC i’m not sure how competitive i am considering i have no leadership positions at all… is that a large issue for top schools? :o

Out of Princeton, Stanford, Yale, and Dartmouth, I think you’ll get into a couple of them.

Then I think you’ll get into most of the rest.

Just make sure your extracurriculars don’t come across as a laundry list; make sure you show your passions.

thanks so much!! i’m planning on delineating my passion for science research in my app as best as i can - probably gonna write about it in my essay.

EC’s are of mainly of one dimension. If you’re an accomplished musician then that will help a lot, but the way you have it listed it’s hard to tell. Sports participation isn’t a hook either. Overall your stats are good but without a hook I think it’ll be a bit of a crap shoot for YSDP. However, the others should be well within reach. GL

thanks a lot! i’m not much of an accomplished musician - just a 99 level 6 piano NYSSMA (state audition solo, highest level) and stand leader of orchestra, but that’s about it. I’m nowhere near good enough to send in a studio recording, haha.
I agree with you sosomenza; I feel as if my chances for yale, stanford, princeton etc are very slim, but my parents (due to my test scores) have high hopes, so i wanted to see what CC thinks. thanks again for your advice!

I think you’re in at Dartmouth and Northwestern for sure.
The others you have a good chance at, but you never know for sure with those schools.
Good luck!

thanks! :)

You got great scores and you should definitely apply to these schools, however, the acceptance rate of these schools are very low. If you apply to all these 7 schools, you should have at least a couple acceptance.
