Hello all, I currently attend the flagship SUNY school (in NY obviously) and have a 4.0 GPA in my first semester. I transferred from another SUNY but am not happy at the new school even though my grades are pretty good. My GPA at the previous school was 3.81. I have my own personal reasons for transferring twice...I am looking at Brown, Cornell, Wash u St Louis, and Columbia. My SAT's are only an 1860 but I presume I wont have to submit them as I have been in college for more than a year (almost 2). So...what are my chances?

you wills till have to submit sat’s and some sat 2’s depending on the prestige of the school. You will have a pretty good chance for some of the lower schools but I believe that columbia or princeton is a stretch. Maybe something more like NYU.

well i had already gotten into two top 25 univ’s out of my first school but chose my flagship state school for financial reasons so i am hoping to keep moving up…

U probably have a good shot at Brown to they love transfers but.its expensive

Testing requirements vary with school policy, not necessarily prestige. For instance Columbia requires all transfer applicants to submit a SAT/ACT, while Brown prefers you do so but doesn’t require it in some situations.

P doesn’t take transfers.

Their transfer rate is about 11%. Less if you apply for FA as they are need aware for transfers.

how about wash u and cornell? chances? including brown. I guess it comes down to how much they will weigh HS vs college. my college stats are good, emory and wake did not look at HS. Wake is also sat optional. thus i got into both
