Transferring chances are tougher than the already tough direct admit pathway. a lot will depend on how many spots open up in a class. With the % of admitted freshman reaching graduation being north of 95%, the number of spots
I think that (plus the fact that cc took a big hit when it changed it’s format to make it much harder to navigate and a lot of peoples general disdain for Chance Me posts) is why people don’t comment on “chance me Transfer” posts. There are just too few examples of people being successful in the transfer process, and then only a small percentage of those who try it tell us about their outcome.
With all of that being said, all I can tell you is that your chances are infinitely better if you apply. Put your effort in to the application parts that are not stats based. It helps if you have a professor where you are who knows what UChicago is looking for in a student and can write a LoR that tells admissions that you are the type of student that thrives at UChicago.
