If you've seen my thread in college admissions "Application cancelled - Transcripts not received" I'm in a fairly bad situation. I was accepted into CSUSM but declined due to missing a transcripts deadline, which I'm still reeling from. My appeal hasn't technically come back but chances are it won't be approved, so I'm assuming I'm out of CSUSM now. This is not due to grades, this is because I missed a deadline.

If you are familiar with the CSU budget crisis/freeze, that would be extremely helpful TBH I do not know all the details.

What I want to know is how this will affect my chances of trying to get into a CSU OR a UC school. UC school's should not be an affected by this, correct?

Is it true that any classes taken in a community college will not allow me to start as a freshmen at CSUSM (This is what I was told by the school). This would mean I'd have to take a full year at a community college, before I could transfer to CSU.

I'm a 3.0 gpa (and took ap econ in my senior year), and roughly a 1800 something on the SAT (650 reading/verbal, 550 writing/math). I was accepted into CSUSM fairly easy.

What UC schools would likely accept me? What other CSU schools would likely accept me?

What advice do you have for me? Get into a community college for the spring, or reapply to a state school in fall 2013?
