720 and 750 SATIIs

Very good ECs (very competitive athlete, extremely involved in volunteer activities, show interest in my intended major)
I've gotten really good feedback on my essays and feel pretty confident about them
I'm a little worried because my older sibling had better stats than me and didn't get into UChicago

I know that I should just wait til this afternoon but I'm freaking out and would like to hear anyone's thoughts on my application :)

I think you have a shot if you can write a stellar essay and have heavy involvement/leadership in your ECs. Your SAT scores are good but the breakdown might help. Either way though, I think you have a shot and should definitely apply! You would probably regret never knowing whether or not you would’ve gotten in if you don’t apply.

If you have amazing essays and leadership positions, I think you have a great shot! The SAT is a bit low, but your GPA is spot on. Overall, I’d say UChicago is a high match to a low reach. Good luck!

Your stats make you a competitive applicant. Ultimately, though, what UChicago really looks for is “fit.” An admissions counselor highlighted this word during an info session.

Can you see yourself thriving and being happy at Chicago? If so, then you won’t have a problem conveying your sense of “fit” in the application, and the officers will notice.
