Hello!
I know these schools are all extremely different in terms of rankings but I would liked to be given a general idea of what I can expect.

I am Canadian btw and in the IB program. I will be going into my senior year. Im an asian so that may kinda screw me over

Taekwondo (2 -3 years) : Black Stripe

Work Experience:
Tutor at Kumon: 2 years

I also did some research at a lab at University of Toronto from last November to now.

I won a lot of awards in grade 7 and 8 but I dont think they are even remotely relevant allthough the awards were all pretty decent (provincials and stuffs)

My question is more oriented towards the UCs (USC and especially Stanford might give financial aid regardless): can you pay full-freight to an UC? Plus only USC takes in account Grade 9; the UCs and Stanford don’t. You may bump up the verdicts for all schools not named Stanford if you actually get 2100+/31+…

UCLA: Reach
UCSD: High match
USC: Reach
Berkeley: Reach
Stanford: Reach/High reach (I’m not sure about the reachability)

Is U Toronto, UWO, York, McMaster feasible for a safety?

I got a similar opinion to Catria, since your transcript has some holes in it your chances for any of these schools are far from certain (and for Stanford and Berkeley they are very low)
Are you a California resident as well, if so that might raise your chances a bit.

Since you seem interested in the West Coast I would also toss in the University of British Columbia, since you would get the low Canadian fees, and it is a good university.

Well, I can easily pay the financial portion so that I not a worry.

What can I do to improve my chances for UCLA and Berkeley?

I really dont want to stay in toronto. I am sick and tired of it as I have been living here for 16 years. I travel to U of T for the microbiology reseach and I dont like the place. York is where my dad works and its not a great school. I would get free tuition but i cant stand it if I have to commute with my dad every day.
If I were to stay in canada, I would prefer McGill but my chances are slim for that. McMaster, Queens, and U of T are my safeties though if my SATs dont improve when I take it again in October.

Nope. I live in Toronto.

Sorry if my responses are a little scattered

I agree with the above posters; all the schools that you have mentioned are probably going to be reaches (even UCSD). You definitely have a stronger chance if you can get 2100+ on the SATs. UCLA and Cal are extremely competitive schools, and your marks are a bit mediocre for them.

With your converted grades, however, I think McGill can be feasible for you as they will only look at Top 6s, and if you were to get a couple of 7s in your other IB subjects, it will definitely be possible for you to get accepted into McGill.
