UCLA, USC, Stanford requirements + chances

<p>Hey guys, I am a Canadian student wondering what youd say here. I am just at the beginning of grade 11 of the IB, but the way my grades are, Im apparently expecting at least 38 (all going well 42, all going ok 40, all going terrible 38). This is with two extra points for EE and TOK. </p>

<p>With that in mind, Im wondering what anybody thinks my chances might be for ucla, usc, and stanford. I know it's difficult being international, so let me know.</p>

<p>English HL: 7
Biology HL: 6 or 7
Film HL: 7
Math: 5 or 6
Economics: 6
French: 6</p>

<p>My Extra curriculars are:</p>

<p>-Senior Soccer school team
-Community soccer team
-Inline hockey team
-External service group (A group I created that gets kids from our school involved outside of school)
-Service group at my school
- Model United Nations
-Writing articles for a soccer website (they get like 25,000 reads usually)
-Guitar
-Woodworking
-A part time job in mechanics... if that counts.</p>

<p>I am looking to go into business, so with that in mind, what do you think my chances might be? What do I need to change? How should I go about changing it?</p>

<p>Not sure if IB scores matter at all considering they aren’t released until the summer before college starts… They’re more for getting college credit as far as I’m aware. The same is true for AP scores but to a lesser extent.</p>

<p>Your resume looks SOLID. However, your SAT and ACT scores are not posted. I think that is the most important part of the resume, though. Colleges such as Stanford care a LOT LOT LOT about your SAT/ACT scores. Even though you are a Canadian, you absolutely need to take the SAT AND the ACT in order to get into a good American college.</p>

<p>Good luck! I got a 2400 on my SAT and a 36 on my ACT with the essay.</p>

<p>shreyamiscool: Thanks for letting me know. As I am in grade 11, and just starting, I havent written an SAT yet, but I plan to write fairly soon, that way I can do accumulative scoring. Thanks for letting me know!!</p>
