I’m trying to see my chances at any UC or CSU, but my dream school is UCSD. I feel like my essays are solid and unique, and It’s worth mentioning that I had mononucleosis for over four months during my Junior year which hurt my GPA quite a bit. Thank you!

does your school not have AP chemistry?
I think it’s definitely possible for you to get into UCSD IF and only if your SAT/ACT is over 2100/32. also, any subject tests? And it’ll be much easier as a biochem major instead of chemical engineering

Camps in middle school don’t matter to colleges, I think (anything in middle school really)

Definitely mention your drop in GPA in junior year in the optional essay on the UC app.

I think you’re pretty good for most CSU’s and lower UC’s (only if your SAT/ACT is what is projected though), but UCSD, UCLA, and UCB will be tougher (this applies to all applicants though)

I’m just another student, so I could be completely wrong haha… but good luck!!

Calculate your UC/CSU GPA: http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
Your GPA looks below average for UCSD and most of the UC’s. You need to bump up your SAT score into the 2100+ range for a decent chance at UCSD.
Middle school EC’s do not count on college applications.
UCD/UCSB are Low Reach/High Match schools especially with the GPA drop but addressing your health issues will help.
You should be fine for all the Cal states of interest except for SLO which again is probably a High Match/Low Reach.
CSULB/SJSU/CPP should be Matches.

If you get your test scores up, you will definitely increase your chances at these schools.

Good Luck.

Assuming your UC GPA is right at 4 - I’d say UCB, UCLA and UCSD are long-shots. You’ve got a solid shot at UCD, UCI and UCSB. You are well qualified for UCSC,UCR and UCM - though there are no guarantees in the UC system

CP SLO could go either way. The rest of the CSUs are highly likely to take you.

Good luck
