<p>I'm a Junior that currently live in California and go to a fairly new public high school (~5-6 years old) with about 4000 students. I plan on either doing pre-med and then doing pharmacy or going into engineering.</p>

<p>GPA UW: 3.8
GPA W: 4.4
-ELC</p>

<p>Schools:
-UCB
-UCLA
-UCSD
-UCI
-UCR
-USC
-Cal Poly SLO
-Cal Poly Pomona</p>

<p>Scores:
-SAT I: 1810 (taking again in October)
-ACT w/ Writing: 31 (8 essay) (taking again in September)</p>

<p>SAT II:
-Math II: 760
-Chemistry: 690 (may retake in November)
-US History: 600</p>

<p>Senior Year Schedule so far:
-AP Statistics
-AP Psychology
-AP Gov / Honors Economics
-Physics Honors
-Regular Literature
-Early Dismissal</p>

<p>I'm on a block schedule at my school so every other day when I have early dismissal I'll be working at a tutoring center as well as volunteering at Kaiser Permanente. </p>

Sophmore Year:
-AP World History: 2 :/
-AP Calculus AB: 2 </p>

<p>Junior Year:
-AP Chemistry: 5
-AP Calculus BC: 3 (AB subscore: 4)
-AP US History: 3
-AP Eng. Language: 3</p>

-AP Government/Politics (No AP Econ offered)
-AP Psychology</p>

<p>ECs:
-Varsity Tennis for 3 yrs, 4 next one with possibly 2 years as captain

-Key Club
-Volunteer hours: total count unsure</p>

<p>My ec's arent particularly good except for maybe tennis so I hope that doesn't hurt me too much next year in the admissions process.</p>

<p>If you guys have any universities in mind that you think would be good for me as well, I would very much appreciate it!</p>

<p>Your stats look pretty solid, def try and improve that ACT/SAT score and you should be pretty good for all your schools… write a good essay obviously but whats the reason not to anyway?</p>

<p>Test scores in general are weak (SAT 1, SAT 2, AP). Your ECs are pretty generic too.
But your rigor of classes and GPA is good for all your schools.</p>

<p>I’d say reach at UCLA and UCB…
High match at USC, UCSD, and maybe Pomona…
And match for everything else. </p>

<p>If you’re ELC then arent you an automatic admit for UCSD? And the other UC’s besides UCLA and UCB?
If you are a science person, why not take the ACT? I noticed your Chemical score-can’t hurt to take it</p>

<p>I think that ELC can guarantee you into any of the UC’s except LA, Berk., and SD but I’m not sure how it could be different this year. But I’m pretty sure ELC gives you a better chance at the top-tier UC’s. </p>

<p>I took the ACT once and got a 31, so I’ll be taking that once more this Saturday to see if I can bump it but I also want to raise my SAT score too as UC’s require the SAT anyway.</p>
