Chance me for UCs, please?

Mostly UCR, UCI, UCSC, UCSB and UCD, but I just have a nagging feeling that they're all reaches. I'm considering SJSU as my safety along with UC Merced and maybe Cal Poly SLO.

Gosh I don't think I've ever done anything like this but eh, it's summer! 8)

Uh I'm interested in pursuing a career in the forensic sciences. So majoring in Bio most likely.

GPA: It sucks, I know :'|

unweighted/weighted
cumulative: 3.861/4.139
a-g 9-11: 3.844/4.156
a-g 10-11: 3.773/4.227

Class Rank: 34/578 - top 6%
(not updated yet, from the beginning of junior year)

SAT Scores:
January - 2070 (CR 690, M 700, W 680)
(taking it again in october. but compared to my psat (195) it's just wishful thinking I guess.)

SAT Subjects: took USH, Math II, and Bio E (yeah....) last week, so no scores yet!

AP Scores:
World History - 5
(again, scores aren't in yet for AP Comp, USH, and Bio)

ECs:
Volunteer for Red Cross, Interact/Rotary, Key, and California Scholarship Federation. Have 150+ hours for them. c:
(....to make this less sad, I'm planning to revamp my school's forensics club and be president. possibly thinking about joining cross country. actually I guess I HAVE to since I suck.)

What I'm taking next year:
AP Human Geography, AP American Government/Economics, AP Calculus AB, Forensics, Spanish 3, English 4 (may be changed to AP depending...)
(total ap classes would be 7, maybe 8 if I actually do transfer to AP Lit. also can anyone give me advice on my class choices? I'm thinking I should switch to AP Chem or Physics and forgo language+forensics, but the AP science teachers here aren't well qualified for their jobs imo so I'm scared that my AP score would be low, which happened to a friend who received a 4.0 gpa. plus my school recommends 3 years of language, and I really want to delve deeper into the science behind forensics. ahhhh what a dilemma. )

Essay:
uh. I'm sure it'll be perfect. ;c

tidbits:
Asian (Vietnamese), female, Californian, first generation college student, poor background so most likely applying for federal aid (should I do that idek college help im not ready 'A' ).

I don’t think the UC’s you’re looking into are reaches at all. Academics are good, I’d say you have a pretty good chance at all of those UC’s.

omg bless your soul for replying. seriously. I’ve mostly lurked in this community until I finally made an account, and it seems like 90% of people reply to “Chance me I’ll chance back” (which is a horrible way of going about things imo since neither parties are fully qualified to do so)

ahem.

I’m glad you think that though! Hahah I didn’t even bother putting UCB and UCLA up there since it’s nigh impossible :’) These past few weeks I’ve been really depressed over my 5 Bs, freaking out over whether or not it’ll hurt my chances. So I guess it’s comforting. Though my ECs jfc I don’t even know. :'CCC

k so update on the SAT Subject Scores. I ended up with
Bio E - 730
USH - 740
M II - 620
^yeah math,I’m going to ditch that score. Will the 700+s help me though? :’)

also I just recently found out about the UCR GAP program! Thinking about applying…hm.

Submitting those 700s+ would help, esp Bio since you plan to major in that. You should definitely apply for UCR GAP (I just did yesterday).

yep I did like…the day after that post :'D

also update with ap scores!

Bio - 3
USH - 4
Language & Composition - 4

that awkward moment when my bad english grades + good bio grades translate to totally opposite exam scores. also forgot to mention, I attend a suburban public high school that usually sends approximately ~20 kids to UCs every year. o: Most usually go to CCs and CSUs.

boosting. :'D

got the AP Scholar with Honor thing going for me (just agh, I need one more for Distinction!) :’) so that’s good, i guess. sports + forensic club didn’t work out as i hoped though.

i’m mostly looking for what people think my chance would be to get into Davis and SD are right now, though. Not going to bother with berkeley or LA because…duh, haha. Merced + Riverside are 100% safeties to me.

I’m retaking the SAT Reasoning in October, hopefully my scores would increase somewhat, if at all. :-)
