@gumbymom thanks so much! hopefully my GPA will not be too unappealing, and I really hope I get into UCLA and UCSD!
I’d just like to point out that you are remarkably lucky to be instate for the UC’s. I’m gonna be a Berkeley EECS freshman and the OOS tuition is completely ridiculous.
As for the chancing, Berkeley is actually more holistic than the other UCs. They will look at your GPA in context. Your personal statements are a huge part of the Berkeley application. I’ve heard that the personal statement is less important for UCLA.
Btw also a Telugu-speaking Indian here. Your extracurriculars are fantastic for the major you’re applying to.
@Krishnak97 thanks so much for the feedback! How do you think my chances would be for UCLA and UCSD? I heard UCSD is extremely GPA oriented too.
I think you will get into UCSD. They do value research, your ECs will help. But whoever said UCSD is your safety must be a high schooler.
anyone else with knowledge on UCs please chance me?

@kobe24mamba UC gpa is a bit low. I had around a UC 4.55 and that got me into ucla and berkeley eecs this year, which were both stats oriented, but my ecs were definitely lacking. Your ecs are great though so honestly there’s no way to tell. Just wish for the best
@krishnak97 which of the top uc’s do you think is the most holistic?
Berkeley, ive heard, is the most holistic when it comes to admission for the college of letters and sciences. engineering (eecs in my case) is a completely different matter from Berkeley regular admission. its a primarily stats and experience based selection system.
