Here's my thing: When i try my hardest i can get straight A's. I dont plan on trying my hardest.. im more into social life. But my not trying is still pretty good. im dropping down to all college prep next year and will definitely get all As (?). also, I can get 4 recommendations through community service.

Questions:
What can I do to up my standings?
Should I re-take classes to get higher grades?
Does winning a superlative increase appeal?
Please give me any advice!

DO NOT DO THIS!!! Most colleges look at the rigor of what you are taking. Do not make yourself look like a fool by taking easier classes after taking harder ones early on! This is one of the leading causes of why kids like you and me DONT get picked, because us rising seniors start to slack off in order to protect their GPA. This not wise. if you can, take 1 AP to distinguish youself a little.

almualim: but wouldnt it look more significant if i was an honors grad, rather than just having those 2 honors classes? and i could take an AP… i just don’t think i’d do the work. i could do an easy, like AP environmental science… but do you think having only ONE AP will make them think twice?

Sure it will. Having any amount of college level experience proves to colleges that your ready for them, sort of like a “bring it on” statement. If you can handle it, take 1 honors and 1 ap and the rest college prep. Show some progression from your old days, not regression.

that’s a posibility… thanks for your advise. i’ve basically realized im not getting into UGA, so im thinking GCSU and transfer to UGA, but i think i should be able to do UA or Auburn straight out of highschool, especially from my school.
