Chance me for UMICH?

Hi, I’m going to be a junior in high school this fall and I’m interested in UMICH. The information I’m going to provide is what I will most likely have by the time I’m applying for colleges. (Not set in stone, but what most likely.) I know this is a competitive school, you don’t need to remind me. It is certainly a “reach” for me.

GPA: (weighted) probably between 3.9-4.0 (unweighted) probably between 3.7-3.8
ACT: Projected range was 29-32. My school doesn’t do SATS.
AP classes: Will have a total of 5 or 6 when I graduate high school.
Honors classes: 11-12
Extracurriculars: Science Olympiad, Choir, Color Guard (I am the captain for Jr and Sr year). Newspaper club, (maybe) NHS for next year. I also volunteer at various places over the summer.
Ethnicity: Pakistani (South Asian)
Gender: F

Your current GPA and ACT are on the low side and it is a reach for you. Can your family afford paying $55K per year?

It sounds like you are a rising junior. Do you live in Michigan? If you do, I think you have a shot. Get you GPA UW as high as you possibly can and study for the ACT. If you get in the 3.8 range and 30+, you have a shot. Good luck!
