Based on the stats you presented IMHO your chances of admission to UD and all of the other schools are reasonably good (obviously no guarantee depending on the applicant pool). All of the schools you listed in major universities provide excellent clinical education and also are more academic in nature, which would be important if you are planning to pursue a graduate degree in Nursing. I would recommend visiting all of the schools you have listed and obtain info on their respective clinical training sites and their NCLEX pass rates (you need to pass this national exam after graduating to obtain a license as an RN). Try to get a sense of where you would best “fit-in”.

As far as UD is concerned it has formulated a researched based designed Nursing Program to specifically address the changing face of the Nursing Discipline with a focus on critical thinking; the development of leadership skills; independent decision making; differential diagnosis; holistic and preventative care; differential diagnosis; Nursing research; and the identification, establishment, and the utilization of Nursing Best Practices and Standards of Care. UD also has an on-site Nurse Managed Healthcare Center along with a state-of-the-art Nursing Simulation Lab.

Our D graduated from UD with her BSN in 2010. She got a great job after graduating on an ICU Unit at Cornell Presbyterian Medical Center in NYC, subsequently obtained her MSN as a FNP from the Univ. of Miami last year, and is now on the Nursing Faculty there. She credits the excellent Nursing education she received at UD as being a major factor in her being able to accomplish all of these things.

I don’t believe you could go wrong attending any of the programs you listed as long as you apply yourself to the best of your abilities. I will just make you aware that the program at TCNJ has a past reputation as being a “weed-out” type of Nursing Program with only a little more 50% of the students entering the program as freshman actually graduating 4 years later with a BSN degree (which is extremely odd to me considering the stats you need to get into the program to begin with). You might want to check this out further to see if things have changed. Good luck at whatever Nursing Program you decide to attend.

Thank you! I am hoping that I get into UD, as I have visited UD, TCNJ, Pitt, Temple, and William Paterson, and so far, UD sees like the best fit in terms of academics and the school in general.
