I exhausted the curriculum at my school, and was the only student to do so, which is the reason for all of the dual-enrollment courses.

**** During the 9th and 10th grade, I wasn't able to do anything, not even sports, etc. Dad was always out of town and/or using drugs and I had nobody that could give me a ride 15 miles from the school (out of district). Thus, I was unable to participate in much until end of sophomore year especially. But that was after my dad had passed away, I moved into a hotel, and moved in with my teacher. At this point, I was still depressed and didn't do a whole lot. My essays were on the adversity I have learned to overcome, and how I look at it all optimistically. These adversities include foster care, a drug-addicted family, and a lot of domestic violence/ abuse and moving 10 times during elementary and middle school. I appreciate your consideration!

So you are senior now? Did you apply EA got deferred or RD? You should be a match to high match for in state.

your grades are great, you have a good chance of getting in

I applied RD.

For in state LSA, you should be fine.

What about someone with high academic achievement, etc… but only a 27 ACT score or something? My friend is like this

And do you think attendance of high school affects an application?

Whatever that is on the transcript may affect your admission chance. ACT 27 is very low for UMich, but I have seen someone get accepted in EA with ACT 23 from in state this year. There is also one in state student accepted with ACT 26. Nevertheless, there may be other factors led to their acceptance such as URM, first generation, legacy, recruitment etc. Anyway, I only have the stat from ~120 EA accepted students.

I think you’re fine. Your grades are spectacular but your ACT is a bit low although you should still be fine. good luck

What is considered to be a good GPA for Umich?

3.8 is the average accepted GPA for last years freshmen class. You’re a great candidate, and if you got deferred you have a high chance of being accepted. Best of luck.

^ The admission average GPA last year was 3.85 (went up from 3.83 the year before) for UMich overall and around 3.9 for CoE.
