Chance me for University of Washington, UT Austin?

Hey everyone. I’m currently most interested in attending the University of Washington Seattle, but I’ve also been looking at UT Austin recently. My major would be Computer Science with a focus eventually on animation design. Here are my stats:

GPA: 3.9 unweighted / I don’t know weighted but probably a 4.5+
SAT: 2050 (retaking in June, goal of 2200)
ACT: 34

Current grade level: Junior
Race: White Hispanic

AP Tests (* is a predicted score):

  • AP Euro (5)
  • AP Calc BC (4/5)
  • AP English Literature (*3/4)

(My school doesn’t offer freshman or sophomores APs, and Junior year I was only able to take 3 unfortunately. Next year I’ll take more.)

Senior Year Schedule:

  • AP Physics
  • AP US History
  • AP Gov
  • AP Computer Science
  • IB Spanish SL
  • IB English HL2
  • IB Statistics HL2

Summer Classes:

  • I took Intensive Precalc Honors last summer and got an A.
  • This summer I'm going to take Calculus III.

Extra Curriculars:

  • 100+ hours volunteering by the end of this summer as a camp counselor at the local natural history museum.
  • 100+ hours volunteering at the local LGBT Youth Center
  • Participated in NaNoWriMo 4 years in a row. I’ve written 2 novels through the competition.
  • NHS member (not a huge deal, I know)
  • I do math tutoring for kids in my school
  • I do graphic design for various clubs at school and businesses in my community (make logos, flyers, banners, stuff like that).

What are my chances? Do either UW or UT Austin sound like a fit? Are there any other schools I should be considering, better or worse?

you’ll definitely get in to UW and have a high chance at UT-Austin

If you are OOS for UT it is a real struggle. The auto admit thing for in state means that many top students from OOS just don’t get in. If my kid was applying again, I would have him take the texas schools out of the running.
