Chance me for UPenn Early Decision

I am very interested in UPenn. My sister (SAS '08) graduated from Penn and will help me with the supplemental essay (i think this can be a huge advantage for me).

Stats: (school does not rank)
G.P.A uw: 3.93 w: 3.85ish? not sure.
8 AP classes by graduation. Rigorous schedule.
Senior Year course load includes 5 APs

ACT:
32 composite 10 essay (March testing)
34 composite 8 essay (April testing)
(i assume they'll look at the 34 composite and 10 essay)

Teacher Recs: should be good
Counselor Recs: should be good. She knows me better than most students, so I believe she'll write a pretty good one.

Academic honors:
National Honor society
Middle Years Programme (its like a mini-IB award)
OAA Scholar Athlete
(this list is very slim, i know.)

Extracurriculars:
Member of three varsity teams (cross country, tennis, track)
-Tennis team placed 3rd in the state
-Captain of the Track and field team for two years
-Drum Major of the Marching Band
-Eagle Scout
-Section Leader of Symphony Band, Full Orchestra, Jazz Band, and the Pit band (for the musical) and a sidenote: Our band played at Carnegie Hall last year.
-Member of a Quartet that consistently receives Division I ratings. The Quartet also received a nomination for the State youth arts festival.
-4 Years in Science Olympiad
-4 Years in Quiz Bowl

so what do you think?

wait… 3.93 is unweighted. our school doesn’t really weight our gpas. an A in AP US history for example is equivalent to an A in american studies.

3.93 gpa with the rigorous courseload.

I went to a UPenn info. session on campus, and the girl who did the info session said that Penn does not superscore ACTs. They only superscore SATs. 34 ACT with an 8 essay is still pretty good. We have a lot of the same academic stats and similar EC’s. I hope you get in because then I know I’ll have a great chance. Are you doing Wharton, SEAS, or CAS?

i’d say pretty good if you’re doing ed
but again it depends on wharton, seas, cas, etc

please chance me back :)

^Incorrect about ACT. They take the highest score in each subsection, but don’t super score them. So they will put you at a 34 composite and a 10 essay - which is not considered super scoring. Super scoring would mean they took every subsection score, and averaged them for a new composite score.

more chances please?

joke, what is your source for ACT policy? do you have a website that states as such?

xzx, you have a good shot with ED. might depend on school. iffy, if Wharton.
