Oh yeah, also I’m a legacy to UPenn but I heard they don’t really care about that.

I’m extremely nervous and it’s taken a toll on my eating habits so I’ve become extremely fat.

  1. Penn does care about legacy in the ED round but M&T is a tough admit. You are well qualified academically -- it will come down to things we can't see like your essay, LORs etc.
  2. Not sure why you are so nervous since you have other schools you like (W&M is one you mentioned). Give Penn your best shot -- if you get in that is great, if not move on -- there are many outstanding colleges out there.

I agree with happy1. You have some amazing stats but so do almost all of the applicants to the M&T program (and most top schools). You have to write really strong essays that show why you want to go to Penn and be in the M&T program. The same will go for any top tier school to which you are applying.

Also, happy1 is correct about the legacy at Penn. It only matters in the ED round not the RD.

You will probably also have an opportunity to interview with someone that graduated from the M&T program if you do decided to apply. Make sure you take advantage of that opportunity.

My son is a current freshman at Penn in the M&T program and is loving it. Let me know if you have any questions about the program.

Good luck with your college search and applications!! Try not to stress too much and have some fun in your senior year!

You get in? If so, would you be willing to read about my essays for my upcoming C/O 2025 app? Also how is TJ? I go to another competitive high school and feel like TJ is really similar
