Because you are a junior, you are going to get a lot of crap for having a chances thread on CC. This is a warning because frankly, people get kind of nasty, and I don’t think half of the things they say are at all necessary. But I will say that you are well on track. For Brown, Duke, UPenn, and Stanford try to get a good ACT/SAT score-like above a 31/32 or a 2100. The higher the better, but do not do what a lot of us did and stress so much about test scores that you forgot about other things, like your sanity. It did me no good.

Start thinking about which SAT Subject Tests you want to take, instead of doing what I am doing and taking them at the very last minute with minimal studying. If you just finished world history-freshen up and take the test in December for example. Think ahead so you can take them on separate test dates.

the fact that you have already had internship/work experience is awesome. do more of that next summer. this year, focus on your GPA, take as many honors/ap courses as you think you can handle, but don’t exceed your limit.

Be awesome in your classes to get some good recs:)

And most importantly, do not get hung up on what CC says about everything. I am. The best advice I could ever give is that you should keep a perspective outside of this little highly concentrated community of overachievers. We are all insane. And the obnoxious (no offense guys) kids on here who are freaking out about their 2350’s not being 2400’s are not the types of people you want to model yourself on. They should know that they can get into great schools based on more than a perfect SAT score.
Most of your chances lie in what you chose to do with the next year of your life. Make it count. But as for right now, you have a solid base for an awesome application!
